Is my Boat Allowed On the Hornsea Mere?

We often receive enquiries as to what types of craft, other than sailing dinghies, are permitted to use Hornsea Mere.

The strict conditions of the club's licence granted by the Wassand Estate (owner of the Mere) are such that only mono-hull sailing dinghies, specified rental rowing boats, and specified club safety boats, are permitted.

Craft not permitted include, but are not limited to: windsurfers, paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, catamarans, private rowing boats, and powered model boats of any type. Model sailboats are welcomed

We are therefore sorry that we cannot allow these and any other types of craft on the Mere.
